What is Elevate 6?

Elevate 6 is a series of 6 powerful online sessions which tackle some of the most challenging aspects of daily dentistry. The topics include management of the dark discoloured tooth, conservative onlay preparation and cementation, top tips for posterior composites and managing the deep sub gingival margins. Knowledge is nothing without the mindset to implement and change your practice and to finish the series we have an incredible lecture by Dhru Shah on developing your confidence and creating a drive to propel you to clinical and financial success in dentistry. You will have 5 weeks to work through the webinars as many times as you would like and will receive your verifiable CPD after completing the short quiz

SIX 1 HOUR MODULES:

Dealing with the dark and discouloured tooth - anterior composites vs ceramics

A dark tooth still poses an incredible aesthetic challenge for clinicians. In module 1, Sanjay Sethi uses his incredible experience to discuss protocols for internal whitening, comparing cases of direct or indirect restorations, and looks at the relative advantages and disadvantages to help you with decision making in your daily dentistry.

Host: Dr Sanjay Sethi
Verifiable: 1 Hour CPD

Learning objectives:

  • Internal Whitening – risks, benefits, and a full protocol

  • Masking colours with prosthetic precision

  • Direct vs Indirect approaches

Managing deep sub gingival margins - Deep margin elevation vs crown lengthening

Deep caries and fractures have always provided a significant technical challenge for dentists. Deep margin elevation has revolutionised the way we treat subgingival margins, but it has its limits. This lecture by Nik Sethi outlines the protocols, compares clinical cases, and looks at a strategy for planning management to help with your daily dentistry

Host: Dr Nik Sethi
Verifiable: 1 Hour CPD

Learning objectives:

  • Pathway for decision making with deep sub gingival margins

  • Deep margin elevation vs crown lengthening

  • Full protocol for deep margin elevation

  • Material Selection and evidence for success/failures

Functional Indirect Posterior Onlays part 1 - Occlusal assessment and preparation protocols

There are a wide variety of techniques and protocols that exist within the conservative onlay field. As such this has led to a questionable long term success rate with high incidences of marginal staining and premature debonding. Furthermore, clinicians still struggle with managing occlusion when restoring a quadrant. Riaz Yar and Nik Sethi have created an evidence based approach which combines an easy occlusal assessment and a clear preparation protocol to give clinicians confidence to rehabilitate single teeth and manage quadrant dentistry with a high level of accuracy.

Hosts: Dr Riaz yar and Nik Sethi
Verifiable: 1Hour CPD

Learning objectives:

  • Occlusal morphology and chewing cycle

  • Re-thinking margin design according to maximum contour line

  • Pre-operative occlusal checks

  • Protocol for preparation, IDS and mini core build up

Functional Indirect Posterior Onlays part 2 - Cementation and occlusal adjustment protocols

In part two of the FIPO protocol we cover adhesive protocols for success with composite resin and also discuss isolation with rubber dam. Riaz then finishes with a precision approach to occlusal adjustments to ensure we achieve accurate occlusal contacts without destroying our lovely anatomy!

Hosts: Dr Riaz yar and Dr Nik Sethi
Verifiable: 1 Hour CPD

Learning objectives:

  • Isolation protocol for onlay cementation -tubber dam and tewflon

  • Cementation with heated vs dual cure composite

  • Identifying correct contacts and creating occlusal stability

  • Adjusting contacts with precision

Top tips for posterior composites - clear protocols for long lasting direct restorations

Despite decades of service in dentistry, resin composite restorations are still a technique sensitive procedure with evidence showing one in 5 class II composites failing at 2 years in general practice. Failure modes include staining, secondary caries, post operative staining, open contacts and difficulty in recreating occlusal anatomy. Elaine Mo goes through the key areas of failure and what tips can help clinicians avoid problems. From use of sectional matrix bands, to using the right instruments and a guide for recreating anatomy, this lecture will give you some golden nuggets to elevate your adhesive dentistry.

Hosts: Dr Elaine Mo
Verifiable: 1 Hour CPD

Learning objectives:

  • Tips and techniques for reproducible predictable aesthetic composite restorations
  • Understand current ART theory for caries removal in a minimally invasive way
  • Understanding which matrix band to choose and invaluable tips for perfect wedging for contact point management
  • A clear strategy for bonding to ensure long term adhesive success

Elevate Mindset

Knowledge is nothing without having the right mindset to effect change in your daily dentistry. In this powerful course by Dhru Shah he breaks down difficult subjects on confidence, communication and establishing your drive to become the best version of yourself and grow as a clinician. Motivation is short term but inspiration creates long term passion. This was the perfect session to finish Elevate 6 and help propel you to clinical and financial success!

Hosts: Dhru Shah
Verifiable: 1 Hour CPD

Objectives

  • Understand how to make seemingly new negative challenges into positive ones
  • Leading yourself first. Know the inside out way of thinking
  • An overview of taking over your destiny, dentistry, and beyond
  • Appreciating your value and your confidence so you can charge without guilt

Ready to take the next step and work together?

An amazing study day with Nik into anterior composite placement technique, equipment, isolation and his amazing polishing protocol. Nik was so approachable throughout and not just throwing photos of his work at us, but instead showing us ways that we can improve ours! I feel 100x more confident and can’t wait to put the skills Nik has taught me into practice with my composites.

I have attended Elaine's courses in person and more recently on digital platforms and the one thing that is always present is her infectious love for Dentistry and teaching. Whether it is clinical or non-clinical topics, she gives simple tips and tricks that anyone can take away and utilise straight away and her great skill is being able to simplify difficult concepts and techniques. Elaine's approachable and humble style to teaching is demonstrated by the fact she is always a quick email/text away from being available for advice and guidance.

Dr Sethi’s anterior composite course has informed me a great deal about isolation and adhesion of materials to produce high quality and long lasting restorations. In particular, the large hands on component was incredibly useful as we were able to understand and practice Dr Sethi’s anterior composite protocol. We were also able to ask any questions we had along the way! Excellent course for anyone wanting to take their dentistry to the next level!! I highly recommend it!
